Patty invited me to teach a three-day class in her home in October. She lives in Floyds Knob, IN which is across the river from Louisville, KY. It was a great group of rug hookers and I had a great time. The workshop was the first weekend in October and even though it has only been a few months her rug is done!
The pattern is called “Padula Passion” by Deb Milam of Indiana. Patty’s finished size is 21″ x57″ which is larger than the original and she made some changes to the border. The rug is destined for a spot in her kitchen.
Patty and I are talking about the rug and it is killing me that I cannot get down on the floor with her. My knee was bothering me and by day three the students were reminding me to stay in the chair. As of now, mid Dec 2010, it is feeling much better, even after spraining it again in a “gardening accident” in late October.
This is a photo of one of the catered lunches we enjoyed. We were even serenaded with dulcimers by Patty and her friend. Have you ever had a bad time with rug hookers? What a special group of people.
Thanks to Debbie Abshier for the candid shots.
