Antique Background Bundles
The dark background for rug hooking is the perfect background for almost any rug. Want to avoid the fuss and muss of dyeing antique “black?” I have it all dyed, bundled and ready to go. Each bundle is the equivalent of 1 yard of fabric. Some bundles are very dark, almost black others are brown, blue, green, red or mixed with all of them. If you have a preference, please state it and I will send the bundle that most closely matches. All are beautiful and several will coordinate together for a dynamic background on a large rug. This is the background I used on the Square Pocketful Footstool and on my room-sized rug, “Chalfonte Fantasy.”
This is my favorite dark background and the best thing is that I can make more when I need it. Each strip of wool starts out as a different color so when they come out of the dye pot, they are all different. The colors will vary based on when they are dyed but you can add more and keep going -- just like sour dough starter.
