Just Plain Fun
Straight from the Cedar Lakes Kitchen:
1 head broccoli
1 head cauliflower
Washed, drained and broken up into bite-sized pieces.
1 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 cup crisp, crumbled bacon or chopped ham
Combine broccoli and cauliflower. Blend together mayonnaise and sugar. Fold mayonnaise mixture into vegetables. Add bacon or ham and toss gently.
I received this poem from Dee. Sums up what we do.
I am the family wardrobe, best and worst
Of all generations, from the first;
Grandpa’ Sunday go-to- meetin’ coat,
And a woollen muffler he wore at his throat;
Grandma’s shaw, that came from Fayal;
Ma’s wedding gown, three times turned and once let down,
Which once was plum and now turned brown;
Pa’s red flannels, that made him itch;
Pants and shirts; petticoats and skirts;
From one another, but I can’t tell which.
Tread carefully, because you see, if you scuff me,
You scratch the bark of the family tree.

Thank you, Dee.

It looks like the recipe came from a recipe book, page 150, but there is no name on the copy I received. If you know the name of the book, please let me know. [Read more…]
I’ve you have a few free minutes, check out this video:
It involves sheep but no rug hooking and made me smile.
Thanks to Trisha Spillan, a long time email friend, for sending the link.
For those of you paying attention, the last post was actually Saturday’s post, but I cannot figure out how to change the date. Did it once before, but can’t find it now. Today is Day 428.
Jack’s assignment for puppy school is to do the “down” command without a treat to follow. The movie clip shows his progress. With Thanksgiving last Thursday and missing the week before, he has had three weeks to get this, but I am still tickled.
I hooked for about an hour yesterday, so I am on track also.
